Take action / Take action / The true cost
Some people argue that organic cotton costs more. We’d rather say that conventional cotton costs too little. The true costs aren’t covered. Instead the farmers and the environment pay for it.

Conventional cotton is a very pesticide-intensive crop. These pesticides are washed out of soils, and pollute our rivers and groundwater. The excessive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides is also devastating to the many small farmers growing cotton. Farmers fall ill due to a lack of adequate equipment and knowledge about how to handle the chemicals.

Organic cotton farming means a completely different approach. The organic production system sustains the health of soils, ecosystems and people by using natural processes rather than artificial elements such as pesticides and other chemicals that cause adverse effects.

Please remember, a fair price makes a huge difference to the farmers and the environment. And only a small difference to the consumer.
